Position overview

The mission of Facilities and Services Division is to "Enable academic excellence at ANU through integrated and innovative facilities and project delivery." The four key portfolios are Corporate and Client Services, Maintenance, Operations and Projects.

The Infrastructure & Planning portfolio has the responsibility for planning and delivering projects for the University, including but not limited to all infrastructure, major and minor building and refurbishment projects.

The Space Planning & Design team is part of the Infrastructure and Planning portfolio. The Space Management function of this team acts as the University’s custodian of technical building data and information.

Core functions include the management of the ANU space management system (currently ARCHIBUS), extending to the management of technical drawings, plans, space data and occupancy information.

Other core functions of the team include review of space allocation and utilisation across the University, space auditing, space benchmarking and reporting, management of geographical information system (GIS) databases as well as development and update of maps pertaining to the University’s campuses and sites.

Under broad direction of the Senior Manager, the Space Coordinator provides a range of space management services including space allocation, space auditing, space benchmarking and reporting, technical data management, and management of the ANU Space Management System. The Space Coordinator is also responsible for developing / updating relevant policies, procedures, specifications, standards and user training guides.

The Space Coordinator works collaboratively with a range of Facilities and Services personnel, external consultants and contractors, and clients and stakeholders across the ANU community in the management of university space and technical data. The Space Coordinator may be required to supervise engaged personnel and consultants / contractors, as required.
